Joel Corelitz is an artist and composer whose career has focused on shaping distinctive sonic worlds for games, brands, and systems where music serves a larger purpose. His work balances a technician’s precision with an openly emotional core, bringing care and sincerity to everything he makes - an approach that has taken him from pixel-art indies to blockbuster franchises, surgical robots to electric vehicles.
Within the last five years, Joel has composed music for three games that reached #1 on Steam, including Halo Infinite, Hyper Light Breaker, and Eastward. His broader credits include Death Stranding (Composer & Score Designer), Mortal Kombat, Sonic the Hedgehog, Gorogoa (Apple’s 2018 iPad Game of the Year), The Last Clockwinder (Meta Quest’s 2022 VR Game of the Year), and The Unfinished Swan (BAFTA nominee for Best Score).
Joel started his career composing for advertising, and has continued to stay involved in music and sound for brands through his company, Starling. He lives near Chicago with his family.
